June 13th, 2018 – Send Off for Epic Journey Against Diabetes (Interactive Map) – At the start of the Epic Journey Against Diabetes, Rotarians & friends from Chicagoland, Rotary International Staff, Rotarian Action Group for Diabetes, Rotary Fellowship of Cycling to Serve USA/CA will ride with Edwin to send him off. The Send-Off Ride will visit the Greater Humboldt Park Diabetes Empowerment Center, a community health organization that addresses the staggering 21 and 14 percent rates of diabetes in the Puerto Rican and African-American populations, respectively, of that community.
June 14-15th, 2018 – Rotary Club of Portage, MI welcomes the Epic Journey Against Diabetes. Rotarians and community groups will ride with Edwin from Berrien Springs, MI to Portage, MI Rotary Diabetes Fellowship and discuss the Global Diabetes Epidemic. On June 15th, Rotarians and other cycling enthusiast in the community will send Edwin off by riding with him to Lansing, MI as he continue with his Epic Journey Against Diabetes.
June 16-17th, 2018 – Epic Fathers’ Day Ride Against Diabetes (Details Coming Soon) – Rotary Club of Sarnia, ON welcomes the Epic Journey Against Diabetes on June 16th and hosts with other community groups. On June 17th, an Epic Fathers’ Day Ride Against Diabetes and gather in fellowship to learn and talk about the Global Diabetes Epidemic.
June 18th, 2018 – Epic Journey Against Diabetes continues further into the Province of Ontario, CA. Route will take Edwin to London, ON and will visit The Banting House, a historical monument home of The Father of Insulin, Dr. Frederick Banting.
June 20th, 2018 – Epic Journey Against Diabetes visits Indeginous Diabetes Health Circle (IDHC) in Thorold, ON, an organization that promotes holistic wellness models. IDHC builds on traditional teachings and best practices to develop and provide programs, education resources to help indegenous people make healthy choices to live free of diabetes. Edwin will share the Epic Journey and his Diabetes Story.
June 22nd, 2018 – Final Stage of Epic Journey Against Diabetes (Interactive Map) – Rotary Fellowship of Cycling to Serve USA/CA and other Rotarians and Friends will join Edwin to ride from Niagara Falls to the Metro Toronto Convention Center. There are many planned regroups, nutrition and hydration stops. The Final Stage Ride takes the Epic Journey along the beautiful Lake Ontario.
